$60 is too limited, $200 is too much — we need a $100 plan

Describe the request

Friends,

There are many serious individual users and power users here — people actively building projects, launching products, and using Cursor daily.

The problem is simple:
Why does the pricing jump directly from $60 to $200?

For many of us:

  • $60 is no longer enough for our usage
  • $200 is too expensive to justify

We are not casual users.
We are active builders, developers, and even business owners.

There are many AI tools out there, but we chose Cursor because we saw the difference in quality. That’s why we are here.

However, this pricing gap is a real issue.

Personally, I have recommended Cursor to many people — including business owners and heavy individual users. Many of them face the same problem.

A $100/month plan would be the perfect balance.

If this gap remains, many users will eventually be forced to look for alternatives — not because they want to, but because they have to.

I believe this would benefit both users and Cursor:

  • Better user retention
  • Higher adoption among power users
  • Increased long-term revenue

Am I wrong?

Operating System (if it applies)

Windows 10/11

I’m already hitting limits on Pro+ but can’t justify Ultra.

A $100 plan would be an instant upgrade for many users like me.

I feel like many people are building serious things but not sharing enough.

You can just pay an extra $40-80 pay-per-use on top :eyes:

I already understand this, but it still doesn’t feel right.

In my opinion, the jump from $60 to $200 isn’t reasonable.

For example, Claude already has a $100 subscription, and with Claude Code you can handle pretty much everything. On top of that, the quality is excellent since it includes Opus.

That’s why I think having a mid-tier pricing option like this would make much more sense.

Am I the only one who thinks this way?

  1. $20 is needed to try it out
  2. $60 is needed for a hobby project
  3. $200 is needed for real work
  4. Some people ask for a double Ultra, because even $200 isn’t enough for a month of full-time work.

That’s partially true, but not everyone uses Cursor all day.

Some people work full-time in a different job during the day and use Cursor in the evenings to build their own projects as a side activity.

So there isn’t just one type of user who is constantly coding all day.

That’s why I believe the system should be designed in a fair way that works for different types of users and usage patterns.

I absolutely second the motion. Doing more dev work at home, but only after work is over… a $100 plan would be great. And I’m spoiled, because I have a fat spend budget at work during the day.

It doesn’t work like that for plans though… you only need to look at the $20 and $60 plans…

$20 → $20 API and composer
$60 → $70 API and more composer

$20 and $40 popup, gives you ‘only’ $60 and less composer usage. Effectively you are throwing $10 away every month

A $100 plan could likely be somewhere between $120-150 of API usage
