Initiatives like this serve as a great motivator for the community. It clearly shows that the company cares about keeping its users engaged and focused 100% on the platform.
To be clear, I never planned on abandoning my credits. My approach has always been to save them for when I genuinely need high-capacity models—after all, why spend premium credits when simpler tasks can be handled more efficiently?
Either way, this gesture is greatly appreciated. Thank you, Cursor team!
It is also worth noting that about a year ago, when Cursor launched its unlimited / high-tier plan, many people claimed it was a bad idea to buy an annual subscription with LLM prices dropping so fast.
I didn’t listen to the crowd and decided to invest in the 1-year plan anyway. Looking back, that saved me a massive amount of money. Instead of dropping, access to top-tier models actually became more expensive or heavily throttled elsewhere, and only now are we seeing some price normalization. Because of that experience and the immense value delivered, I just renewed my annual plan once again!
