Cursor can sometimes completely disrupt the project structure while trying to solve a single issue. It deletes existing files and creates new ones, causing all the effort, time, and money invested in the project—and into Cursor—to go to waste.
Situations like this increase my frustration and significantly reduce my trust in Cursor. I keep repeating the same warning:
“Please do not alter the core structure of the project. Do not create new problems while trying to solve one. Do not delete existing files and replace them with new ones.”
I emphasize this not only during conversations but also by writing these as fixed rules. However, Cursor tends to forget these instructions.
I genuinely feel upset when I lose sleep over problems like this.
That’s why I’m requesting a feature called “Fixed Rules.” These rules should always remain in effect, and Cursor should consistently follow them without exception.
