There are scenarios where I want to remove all the auto-attached (.mdc) rules files from the chat because they are irrelevant. I would like to have an x button next to the number of (auto-attached) rules to clear/disable them all (for this chat session).
Hey, thanks for the feature request, we’ll consider it.
It’s an extremely easy feature to add and will have considerable positive effects when chatting with the model about things the auto-attached context will only confuse it or simply waste tokens.

I am literally wasting tons of tokens on these auto-attached rules for prompts which do not require any attached file.
The chat box cannot be used for random contextless chat because most of the time I want to have the auto-attached files. I would say 80%-20% yes and no.
