Describe the request
Introduce a new “Explain” option in the context menu when users select text within a chat conversation. Triggering this action should perform a lightweight agent request that analyzes the selected fragment and provides a concise explanation of its meaning, terminology, abbreviations, concepts, or references. The explanation should combine both the conversation context (why this text matters in the current discussion) and general knowledge (definitions, background information, acronym expansions, etc.).
The result should be displayed in a dedicated, larger popup or side panel rather than as a new message in the chat thread. This preserves the flow of the conversation and allows users to quickly understand unfamiliar content without polluting the chat history. The explanation request should be treated as ephemeral: it should not be added to the conversation context, should not appear in the message history, and should not influence subsequent agent responses.
