Cursor IDE
Describe the request
Cursor IDE — Agents Window (Glass UI)
Describe the request
In the Agents Window sidebar (especially under Home), individual chat/agent entries can show a custom icon on the left side of the title (e.g. a circular avatar-style icon next to “Postman API call example”).
Right-clicking a chat entry exposes Edit Icon, but the picker only lets you add or change an icon. There is no way to remove an icon or reset to the default (no icon) state.
This is inconsistent with the UI itself: other chats in the same list appear without any icon, so a “no icon” default clearly exists — it’s just not reachable through Edit Icon once an icon has been set (manually or automatically).
Steps to reproduce
Open Agents Window
In the sidebar (e.g. under Home), find a chat that shows a custom icon on the left
Right-click the chat → Edit Icon
Observe that you can only select a different icon — there is no Remove, Clear, None, or Reset to default option
Expected behavior
Edit Icon should include at least one of:
Remove icon / Clear icon
Reset to default (no icon)
Or: clicking the currently selected icon again toggles it off
After removal, the chat should look like other entries that never had an icon assigned.
Why this matters
Icons may be auto-assigned when Cursor names a chat (not always user-initiated), so users may want to undo that without changing the title
When managing many chats, inconsistent icon presence adds visual noise
Rename and Archive are already supported; Remove icon is the missing counterpart for icon customization
Workarounds tried
Edit Icon — no delete/reset option
Archive — hides the chat but does not remove the icon metadata
Rename — does not affect the icon
I searched the forum and did not find an existing thread with a solution for this specific case.
