Add the ability to share a Cursor canvas with teammates who also use Cursor IDE

Feature request for product/service

Cursor IDE

Describe the request

Canvases are useful for exploring ideas, documenting implementation plans, reviewing code, and working through technical problems. However, they currently feel limited to an individual workspace.

When collaborating with teammates, there is no simple way to share a canvas while preserving its structure, context, code references, and ongoing discussion. This makes it harder to use canvases for collaborative design, debugging, planning, and code review.

Operating System (if it applies)

Windows 10/11

Hey, thanks for the feature request. Good news, the basic capability is already there: Shared Canvases. In a canvas, there’s a Publish/Share menu that creates a team-scoped snapshot, and your teammates can open it via a link in the web dashboard. The structure and code references are preserved.

A couple notes to make this work:

  • You need a paid plan and you need to be in a Cursor team, not an individual account. Sharing currently works within a team.
  • Cursor version 3.5.17 or newer.

More context from the announcement and discussion is in this thread: I ' d like a simple way to share my canvas

What’s not there yet from what you described, and what we’re aware of:

  • Viewing a shared canvas directly inside the IDE, it’s currently only in the web dashboard.
  • Saving the discussion or chat together with the canvas.
  • Public or cross-team sharing, for individual accounts without a team. This is being explored, but there’s no ETA yet.

Sync right now is via manual Sync as a static snapshot, not real-time. I’ll pass your request on these points to the team. If any of the steps above don’t work, let me know and we’ll take a look.
