Does this stop you from using Cursor?

  • Yes - Cursor is unusable
  • Sometimes - I can sometimes use Cursor
  • No - Cursor works, but with this issue

The more details you provide, the easier it is for us to reproduce and fix the issue. Thanks!

Hey, thanks for the report. I’ll need a bit more info to troubleshoot:

  1. Which Cursor version are you on? You can check in the Applications folder. Right-click Cursor → Get Info
  2. Which macOS version? System Settings → General → About
  3. What were you on before the upgrade? Which version was working fine?

In the meantime, please try a clean reinstall:

Uninstall:

  1. Quit Cursor if it’s running with Cmd+Q
  2. Drag Cursor.app from Applications to Trash
  3. Delete settings and cache:
rm -rf ~/.cursor
rm -rf ~/Library/Application\ Support/Cursor
rm -rf ~/Library/Caches/Cursor
rm -rf ~/Library/Saved\ Application\ State/com.cursor.*

Install:

  1. Download the latest version from Download · Cursor
  2. Drag it into Applications
  3. Launch it

If the issue still happens after a clean install, let me know. Also check Console.app (you can find it via Spotlight) right when you launch Cursor. There may be errors there that can help us figure out what’s going on.

Thank you.

I’m running Mac Sequoia 15.6

I tried the clean install steps. Downloaded latest. Still same issue.

Icon dances after clicking but UI is not launching.

I see nothing in console.

I don’t know which version of cursor was there before
