I changed the chat to local and opened a new chat - it is still not working.
I send a message and it just replys with

“The agent execution provider did not respond in time. This may indicate the extension host is not running or is unresponsive. Request ID: d966e3e1-0996-4da5-8b9e-54d878105587”

Hey, thanks for the report, and sorry this has been blocking you for a week. This error means the Cursor component that runs agent commands `cursor-agent-exec` couldn’t start on your machine, so messages aren’t reaching our servers at all. It’s not related to your account or plan, and it’s not something in your project settings.

This is a known issue on some Windows setups that we’re tracking. Updating versions alone doesn’t fix it yet, but there’s a workaround that helped another user in the exact same situation on the same version 3.17.19.

- Make sure Git for Windows is installed.
- Open Command Palette `Ctrl+Shift+P` → Preferences: Open User Settings (JSON) and add:

```json
"terminal.integrated.profiles.windows": {
  "Git Bash": { "path": "C:\\Program Files\\Git\\bin\\bash.exe" }
},
"terminal.integrated.defaultProfile.windows": "Git Bash"
```

If Git is installed in a different folder, update the path.
- In Cursor Settings \> Chat, check that Legacy Terminal Tool is turned off, that’s the default.
- Fully quit and reopen Cursor, do a full restart, not Reload Window.

One quick question to make sure we’re looking in the right place. Does this happen in all projects, or only in the one where you used the remote feature? If it’s only one project, open it and check if you see the prompt Do you trust the authors of the files in this folder? and accept it if it shows up.

Let me know how it goes.

Yes, nothing was working. I added this line and now it was able to work. Shame I lost a week in this..
