I work in Agents window and I am unable to see the setting to turn OFF “Agent Review” toggle under the “Git & PRs” section. This configuration is visible when working in IDE window.
This agent_review is a huge cost and it takes up more than 90% of my spend.
This incompatiblity between settings of two modes needs to be looked at more detail and fixed all throughout.
Steps to Reproduce
- Use “agents window”
- Go to settings section and then the “Git & PRs” sub-section
- There is no toggle for Agent Review.
- Switch to “IDE window”
- Go to Cursor settings and then the “Git & PRs” sub-section
- Notice the plethora of options for “Agent Review”
Expected Behavior
Settings should be uniform on both modes of working.

No - But I can’t trust “Agents window” because it seems to be untested.
Hey @Pradeep_Kumar_Anchan, you’re right that the Agent Review controls only show up in the classic IDE window today, not in the Agents Window. That isn’t the experience we want, and we’ve let the team know so they line up across both.
You can still switch it off, and it applies everywhere: open the IDE window → Cursor Settings → Git & PRs → Agent Review, and turn off “Start Agent Review on Commit” (also check “Auto-Run on Agent Finish” if it’s on). That’s a global setting, so once it’s off the automatic runs stop in the Agents Window too.
Quick note on the naming: the dashboard’s Bugbot “Manual Only” controls the reviewer that runs on your GitHub pull requests, which is separate from this in-editor Agent Review - that’s why flipping it didn’t stop these.
And to keep costs down, in that same Agent Review section set Default Approach to Quick.
I was at my wits end trying to figure out how to turn it OFF because I exclusively work in “Agents Window” mode. Because that is what your Cursor team is pushing and it also helps me monitor agents across multiple workspaces. Finally, someone from my organisation showed me this setting and told me he uses the “IDE mode”. That gave me the clue.
I was of the assumption that IDE mode is deprecated since you people wanted to get rid of the Visual Studio code baggage, but what I learnt here is that I guess the Cursor team themselves do not use it primarily internally. It seems that either the test-automation is not the same for both ways of working or the code coverage is not 100%.
The main problem why I started looking to turn off “Agent Review” because it burned a hole in my company’s budget consuming more than 97% of my usage (“Deep” analysis mode since we are writing production code with Cursor). Less than 3% was from the production code written, just the review consumed so much. I think that also needs a review on why it takes up so many requests and tokens. It should have been the other way round. Otherwise, everyone will eventually turn it OFF.
