Describe the Bug

When triggering a Cursor Agent run, the task immediately fails with an ERROR_OPENAI / ConnectError [unavailable] toast: “We’re having trouble connecting to the model provider. This might be temporary — please try again in a moment.” Hitting Try again repeatedly does not recover. The Agent cannot start and no plan is executed.

Steps to Reproduce

1.	Open Cursor and a workspace (Swift project).
2.	Open the Agent panel and start a run (no special settings; default “Plan, search, build anything”).
3.	Observe immediate failure with provider connection error.

Expected Behavior

Agent should connect to the model provider and begin planning/execution.

hi @Damian_Witkowski and welcome to Cursor Forum.

This may be a temporary issue, though I am unable to reproduce it on my side. The model does respond.

Does it occur also on a new chat thread?
