Agents are very slow to execute

Let’s quickly check a few things:

  1. App Settings → find HTTP/2 → turn on “Disable HTTP/2,” then restart Cursor.
  2. Check extensions: start Cursor with extensions disabled
    • Open a terminal and run: cursor --disable-extensions
    • Test the agent. If it’s faster, disable extensions one by one to find the problematic one
    • Example fix: SLOW or NO response from the agent
  3. In the agent chat, ask to clear the TODO list or start a new chat
  4. Run Settings → Network → Run Diagnostics and share a screenshot.
  5. If the issue persists, please send 2-3 Request IDs from the stuck attempts:

Additionally, please specify:

  • Whether you use a VPN/proxy/corporate network
  • Whether there are any MCP servers
  • Whether it reproduces in a brand‑new chat/empty folder
