Agents Window is sold as a control surface for orchestrating many agents across repos, but the UX works against that job. You cannot see multiple conversations at once the way an IDE shows split editors, so “parallel” work is something that runs in the background while you stare at a single thread. There is no global recent or active list for fast hopping; navigation is a per-repo history dump, so the moment one busy project sits expanded at the top, every other repo’s live chats disappear under a scroll of old sessions. Switching among two or three real threads therefore means collapsing groups, scrolling archaeology, and constant reorientation instead of one-click coordination. A tool aimed at orchestration should keep concurrent work visible and reachable; this one buries it in an archive sidebar and then asks you to manage a fleet you can barely find.

Thanks for the feedback.

A few things that exist today that may help:

  • In the Agents sidebar, the customize (filter) menu lets you change Group by to Updated (a global recency list) or Status (active/needs-attention work always surfaces at top), and the Show filters can hide done/archived sessions.

  • The Agents Window has a tiled layout so you can have multiple chats open at once, from the same repo or different ones!

Perfect - I kept looking for “split” in the menu like it is in ide.

I never tried “custom” because the icon symbol usually means “filter” not “options/customize” - now I know!

It trips me up too, but I’ve never said anything. Will share that with the team!
