### Where does the bug appear (feature/product)? Cursor IDE ### Describe the Bug I use AI chat window to manage app development/fixing, but the AI assistant stucks at some point every few messages and ‘thinks’ endlessly until I stop the task in progress. Let me know what can I provide to find out the reason of this. ### Steps to Reproduce Just write the AI chat and on some point it stucks while thinking ### Operating System Windows 10/11 ### Current Cursor Version (Menu → About Cursor → Copy) Version: 1.7.54 (user setup) VSCode Version: 1.99.3 Commit: 5c17eb2968a37f66bc6662f48d6356a100b67be0 Date: 2025-10-21T19:07:38.476Z Electron: 34.5.8 Chromium: 132.0.6834.210 Node.js: 20.19.1 V8: 13.2.152.41-electron.0 OS: Windows\_NT x64 10.0.26200 ### For AI issues: which model did you use? Standard settings ### For AI issues: add Request ID with privacy disabled Don’t know where to find it ### Does this stop you from using Cursor Yes - Cursor is unusable ---

This is a known issue tracked here: [Cursor IDE chat sometimes hangs waiting for a response that never arrives](https://forum.cursor.com/t/cursor-ide-chat-sometimes-hangs-waiting-for-a-response-that-never-arrives/136776) To help the investigation, please share: - Which AI model are you using: Auto or a specific one (Claude Sonnet, GPT-4, etc.)? - Request ID: when the chat hangs, click the three dots (⋯) in the chat window → “Copy Request ID” (first disable Privacy Mode in Settings → General if needed) - Network Diagnostics: go to Cursor Settings → Network → run “Network Diagnostics” while the chat is stuck and share the results - Network environment: are you behind a corporate firewall, VPN, or using Cloudflare Zero Trust? Let me know what you find! ---

I am experiencing exactly the same problem. I read that link and it mentioned dns resolver, I have my dns set to cloudflare, 1.1.1.1, 1.0.0.1 . I have just changed it to google, and I will let you know if its any better. ---

@artman Out of curiousity, what dns resolver do you use? After using the new resolver ip, I had no issues, so it must be related in some way. ---
