AI Model Not Found

Where does the bug appear (feature/product)?

Cursor IDE

Describe the Bug

I’m unable to run the free Auto model on my pro plan because of paid usage limits.

Steps to Reproduce

When I enter a prompt, with “Auto Balanced” selected (it appears the Auto option is now gone) it returns and says I’m at my usage limit and need to switch to Auto. When I click the button in the error message, it sets the model to “auto” and then complains that the model doesn’t exist.

Expected Behavior

I should be able to run the free Auto model after exceeding paid usage.

Does this stop you from using Cursor

Yes - Cursor is unusable

Thanks for the report @Ilia_Gribenko! This is a known issue. I’ve added your report to the bug report that was spawned from this thread, and in the meantime Kevin’s advice (switch to Auto Cost) should unblock you.

Hi!

Could you please let me know where I should select Auto Cost? As you can see in the screenshot, I only have Auto Balance available.

Hovering over Auto in the Model Picker should give you the Edit option, which will allow you to select a different optimization.

@Colin hi! It doesnt work
