We use multiple tools in setting up self driving automations, like the example in the screenshot. Often it happens that the integration goes into Needs authentication status. This doesn’t come into notice until someone observes issues with outputs from these automations. It would be great the team is notified about this or alerted in some form. In case you have other recommendations for faster resolution of such situations, please suggest
Hey @mahesh-krishnakumar, thanks for the suggestion. Right now, Needs authentication only shows when you open that automation and look at Tools. There is no alert when a connection expires. We’ve let the team know. I don’t have a timeline yet, and I’ll post here when I do.
Two things that might be helpful in the meantime:
- Enable Send to Slack on the automations you rely on, and tell the agent to post a short status after every run, including when a tool is unavailable. If it only posts when something looks off, a missing tool looks the same as a quiet run. Send to Slack is covered here: Automations | Cursor Docs
- For a manual check, open https://cursor.com/automations, open each automation, and look under Tools for Needs authentication. Use Authenticate on that row to reconnect.
