Is this happening to anyone else? This is driving me crazy.

When a spawned subagent requests permission for an action, an Allow button appears. If I open that subagent’s session to see what is happening, the button disappears. I can no longer approve the pending request, even after I close the subagent session.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Ask an agent to spawn a subagent. Have the subagent perform an action that requires permission.
  2. When the permission request appears, open the subagent’s session without clicking Allow.
  3. Close the subagent’s session.

Expected Behavior

The Allow button remains available inside the subagent session and after I close it.

Hey @keemgunn, thanks for the report, and sorry, this one is annoying.

This is a known issue we’re tracking. When a subagent is waiting on Allow, opening the subagent’s view doesn’t show the approval inside it, and right now the Allow pill on the parent doesn’t reliably come back after you close that view. I’ve added your report to the internal ticket.

Until it’s fixed, the safest pattern is to approve from the parent chat without opening the subagent first (click Allow on the pill or the subagent card in the main conversation). If you do get stuck, press Stop on the chat and then ask it to continue; the subagent will re-request the action with a fresh Allow. Starting a new chat also resets it.
