You used to be able to delete chats directly from the chat history panel, but now in version 2.6.11, you can only archive them.
Then when you go the Agents Side Bar, you can delete the chats there, but it requires hovering, clicking “…” or right clicking and then pressing “Delete”. This makes it terribly inefficient if you want to delete like 30 chats.
I try to keep agent/chats requests as separated as possible, to avoid a single long context chat of different requests.
So I can have small or multiple chats that are solely for asking questions or simple things, I’m not going to clutter a current focused complex agent/chat for a simple auxiliary question.
For simple tasks, I also don’t need to keep the agent chat once the task is done.
I only keep complex or agent chats that I think I might revisit later one.
Otherwise I don’t want to clutter my chat history of unimportant chats, it’s harder to retrieve what matters later on and it can quickly pile up!
edit: also, archiving a current chat doesn’t remove it from the chat tab, so I have to manually click “close” on top of it.
Once I move past a certain part of the project, I would like to delete all related chats. This makes it easier to search past chats since there are less to search through.
No, when you search chat history, archive results come up (even if displayed in archive foldout), but if you use the “find with agent” feature to search past chats it will search archived ones.
