Allowlist management, like bookmarks in web browsers

Feature request for product/service

Cursor IDE

Describe the request

Currently (Cursor 2.6.20), the Allowlist is just an unorganized list.
Being able to manage it like the bookmarks of a web browser would be useful.

As a Cursor user, I would like to be able to:

  • organize the Allowlist in a tree of folders, so I can quickly check what I have allowed and remove or disable sections of the Allowlist easily (instead of removing items one by one)
  • save and reload the Allowlist, ideally even subsets of it, so I can revert to a previous Allowlist, or duplicate an Allowlist I have built on a new PC, or pass it to a colleague, …
  • save files should be plain text, so I could save regularly and compare save files to see what a new chat added to the Allowlist
  • revert easily to the Allowlist as it was before the last chat, in case I feel I have allowed too much (or I deliberately allowed more than usual for a single chat)

As a Cursor skill developer, I would like to be able to quickly remove or disable part of the Allowlist to test how the skill I am developing will play out for a new user. Of course, after this test I need to be able to restore my Allowlist.
