Cursor is set to auto update within the app, while the app is running. Let’s skip the fact that’s annoying in and of itself, and move directly to the issue.
On this latest update (March 23, 2024) the app stopped responding. It didn’t save my work, and refused to close.
When I finally got it to close, the icon in my taskbar was broken. Apparently, the update changed the location of the exe and or the link.
So now:
- I’ve lost code
- I’ve lost my taskbar icon / shortcut
I’ve tried to reopen the app from the install directory (AppData), but it refuses to “pin to task bar”.
Guys – let’s stop with the “QOL” stuff and just make some things manual.
- INSTALL TO PROGRAM FILES
- ALLOW MANUAL CHECKING AND INSTALLING UPDATES
And ffs give us the option to use local LLMs.
You guys are doing great work, but this needs to be bigger than your relationship with OpenAI for it to build revenue and acquire the largest userbase possible to accommodate your exit strategy.
