ApplyPatch hanging forever

Describe the Bug

I am exeperiencing AppyPatch tool hanging forever, and currently agent can wait for a long time (maybe indefinitely), these combined and form an issue that we think the agent is running, but it is just handling there without doing anything, I am using gpt 5.2 codex, now sure if this is related, but stop and let gpt 5.2 codex edit the same file again get it stuck at the same place, while switching to gpt5.2 high can work trough

Steps to Reproduce

not sure how to reproduce, happens when gpt 5.2 codex calls ApplyPatch on a file, and wating forever, happens a few times today

Expected Behavior

ApplyPatch have a definate end state in limited time, either success or fail or timeout, not hanging forever

Operating System

Windows 10/11

Current Cursor Version (Menu → About Cursor → Copy)

2.4.0-pre.13.patch.0

No - Cursor works, but with this issue

Hey, this looks like an issue we fixed before, but it might be a regression in the preview build.

Can you send the Request ID when it happens? Chat context menu (three dots on the right) > Copy Request ID.

Also try:

• Switch to the stable version instead of 2.4.0-pre
• If you need to stay on preview, GPT 5.2 High works as a workaround for now

This will help us figure out if it’s specific to the preview build or to GPT 5.2 Codex in general.
