Describe the Bug
Every time I send a message in the Cursor Agent window, I receive an authentication error:
“Authentication error. If you are logged in, try logging out and back in.”
I am logged into Cursor, but Agent requests still fail repeatedly.
Request ID:
cbb52c21-b2ba-4360-b6de-12f4b0c614b0
I have already tried:
- Logging out and logging back in
- Restarting Cursor completely
- Reloading the Cursor window
- Checking the internet connection
- Disabling VPN and proxy
The issue still occurs on every Agent request.
Operating System: Windows
Steps to Reproduce
- Open Cursor on Windows.
- Log in to my Cursor account.
- Open the Agents Window.
- Select a local repository.
- Type any message, such as “hi”.
- Send the message.
- An authentication error appears and the Agent does not respond.
The issue occurs every time I send an Agent request.
Expected Behavior
The Cursor Agent should process my message and return a response without showing an authentication error.

Additional Information
The authentication error occurs in every repository and for every Agent message. The Cursor editor opens normally, but all Agent requests fail. I have already logged out and back in, restarted Cursor, reloaded the window, checked my connection, and disabled VPN/proxy, but the issue remains.
