it could then be saved for subsequent messages, and the @ may not even be necessary or desirable. To feel nature, I highly recommend that chat window have some intelligent for “greeting patterns” for example if you type “hey claude” it will highlight these words similarly to things referred to using @ possibly with a different style so it’s not mistaken for a context manipulation. Even more style points if the tag inserts the icon of the model where the @ would be, e.g. [@hey claude] where @ is the icon of the model.
It’s clear given what the UI indicates now that each model has strengths and weaknesses, and are increasingly deviating in style and proficiency. Gemini-2.5-pro is extremely smart and precise, and is way more useful as a computer to crunch data you give it, but it’s not ideal for everyday coding. For this reason I think this will become a crucial feature.
