Background mode not working

Just updated to beta 0.50.

Background mode doesnt show as an option, only agent/ask/manual.

Even after selecting Default new chat mode as Background. Doesn’t seem to work or do anything. Tried refreshing developer window as well.

Anyone have a similar issue or a fix?

You have this option activated in Cursor settings → Beta and maybe deactivated privacy mode (not sure if that works together in preview)?

Then that cloud icon should yield you into a command interface like this:

I already have the env configured, first time use should easily bring you to the setup wizard looking like this:

weird. that doesnt show up under my beta tab, nor when i disable privacy mode and reset the environment. definitely on version 0.50.1

I don’t see the background-agent settings.

Hey, this feature is rolling out gradually. Once it becomes stable, we’ll roll it out to all users.

Updating to 0.50.3 does not help - still option not visible for me. ■■■■■.

It’s rolling out with the updates that are rolling out? If you could clarify, I’m on version 0.50.2 and it still doesn’t appear. I was previously on 0.50.1 when I made this post.

scratch that, now im on 0.50.3 and still no working background agent mode.
