### Feature request for product/service

Cursor IDE

### Describe the request

beforeReadFile doesn’t carry the tool\_use\_id of the preToolUse event that caused it. Can we add that to the beforeReadFile input as well?

@mohitjain do you think we can priortize it to the R&D team?

Hey @Maor_Botton, thanks for your patience on this.

This was a pretty easy fix. In an upcoming release,`beforeReadFile` will include `tool_use_id` when the read comes from an agent tool call, matching the `tool_use_id` on `preToolUse` and `postToolUse` for the same call. Reads that don’t come from a tool call, like inline edits, won’t have it.
