I’m not even sure anymore if at this point the feature isn’t just purposefully removed ? I.e. specifically the “Usage summary”:

I don’t find the setting at all anymore in the cursor “visual” settings, though in the Cursor section of the general vs code settings, there still is the following `cursor.composer.usageSummaryDisplay`:

So… This was initially a feature request in 2024, got implemented, but now amidst the end of year ui changes it got broken, then fully taken away ?

Seeing the amount of posts linked above, which isn’t even exhaustive, there clearly is high interest for this still, some posts are feature requests probably because some didn’t know the setting existed, some are bug reports, some are posts to ask for it to come back…

Steps to Reproduce

Not certain, I think it just got 100% broken and removed silently, though initially identified as a bug ?

Hey, thanks for the detailed report and for collecting all the related threads. That really helps.

This is a known issue. The feature is indeed broken. The cursor.composer.usageSummaryDisplay setting is still in the config, but the UI control and the functionality are gone.

The team is aware and the bug is logged. I can’t share a timeline for a fix, but given the number of reports, it’s definitely on the radar.

Let me know if anything changes on your side after the next updates.

I sincerely hope that this is a bug and was not intentional. If it was intentional, then this is extremely anti-consumer of Cursor to hide the usage amount, so that we’re all unaware of how close we are to our limit.

@deanrie Can we get an update on Eli’s comment? If you can find the setting, you can easily locate the code, or the PR removing it. So it’s utterly strange that team is unable to bring back this after almost two months, unless it’s intentional.

Hey, replying to the follow-up questions.

This is a bug, not an intentional deletion. The feature broke after the UI changes at the end of the year. The bug is logged.

I’ll post here if there are any updates on the fix.
