In the new UI, I don’t see a copy button on individual assistant messages anymore. If I want to reuse a specific response (instructions, summary, draft post, etc.), I have to manually select text or copy much larger portions of the conversation.
Why this matters
I frequently move agent output into docs and debugging tools.
Long conversations often contain multiple turns, tool output, and code changes.
Per-message copy was a simple but very useful workflow.
Requested improvement
Add a “Copy this response” action to every assistant message.
Ideally support user messages too.
Keep Copy All as a separate option, not a replacement.
Hey, thanks for the feature request. Copy for individual messages in the new UI wasn’t fully removed, it’s just hidden in the trailing menu ⋯ More actions on each assistant response. There’s a Copy Message option there. The issue is the icon is pretty subtle right now, so it’s hard to notice.
A separate, more visible Copy this response button right on the message is a known and popular request. It’s been raised on the forum multiple times, for example here Add a dedicated “Copy” button to chat messages and here Simple task: How to copy a message?. We’ll add this thread as another signal in favor of the feature. I can’t share an ETA for a better option yet.
If you notice that copying via ⋯ only copies part of the response instead of the whole thing, let us know. That’s also on our radar.
