Bring back the Unlimited Throttled/Slow-Mode for the $20 Pro Plan

Feature request for product/service

Cursor IDE

Describe the request

Hi everyone, First of all, huge thanks to the Cursor team for making such an incredible IDE. It has completely changed my development workflow. However, I want to raise a point regarding the recent changes to the $20 Pro Plan limits, which I believe is affecting many developers globally—especially those in the low and mid-range income brackets.Previously, when we exhausted our fast premium requests, we could still use Cursor in a slower, throttled mode for free. This was incredibly helpful. It allowed us to keep coding and maintaining our workflow without sudden interruptions. With the current setup, once the limit is hit:Pay-as-you-go gets very expensive, very fast. For independent developers or students, this isn’t always financially viable.Setting a hard spend limit completely blocks the AI. Once the limit is reached, the AI assistant just stops working, which completely breaks the coding flow.My Suggestion:Please consider bringing back the unlimited slow-mode under the $20 Pro package.By keeping it slow/throttled, it won’t abuse your server bandwidth. At the same time, it will allow millions of budget-conscious coders worldwide to continue using Cursor sustainably without the fear of massive, unexpected bills. If you are a developer who relies on Cursor but faces budget constraints once the fast requests run out, please upvote this post and share your thoughts below so the team can see how vital this feature is for the global community.Thank you for listening!
