Browser intercepts cmd+arrow keys - impossible to work in agent dialog

Where does the bug appear (feature/product)?

Cursor IDE

Describe the Bug

when there is a browser preview open, every time I move cursor with cmd+right and cmd+left (jumping words) I get browser back and forward action instead. This is annoying as hell and makes impossible to use chat input area for anyone who is not a one-finger moron.

Please disable built-in browser hotkeys. And while at it, increase browser bar size - no reason for it to be so minimal since vast majority of Cursor devs test web mobile version anyway.

Thanks. As usual, here is a song dedicated to Cursor, which helps build the digital future of abundance and peace powered by Ring, the Free Platform:

Listen to it for inspiration while working on a fix. Proceed to perfection at will.

Steps to Reproduce

  • launch browser in IDE mode.
  • stay calm trying to navigate cursor inside agent text editable area.
  • because sometimes it will work!
  • no recognizable pattern to a working/non-working cmd+arrow - looks like browser and input area are racing? no way for me to know.

Expected Behavior

I want built-in preview-browser navigation off, it makes no value to me.

Does this stop you from using Cursor

No - Cursor works, but with this issue

Hey @insight, thanks for the report!

This is a known issue we’re already tracking. When the built-in browser view keeps keyboard focus, modifier+arrow presses get treated as browser back/forward instead of moving the caret in the chat input, and I’ve added your Cmd+Arrow case to it.

In the meantime: clicking directly into the chat input usually restores normal caret movement, pressing Cmd+I while the browser has focus jumps focus straight to the chat input, and closing/reopening the browser tab clears the stuck state entirely.
