Budget and Discount Visualization in Application for Enterprise Plans

Feature request for product/service

Cursor IDE

Describe the request

  • Individual plans show how much of a user’s monthly budget has been used, separated between the Auto and API categories. This would be very valuable in Enterprise plans as well where users have limited budgets.
  • We sometimes get emails or in-app notifications about discounted models, but otherwise it is not obvious what the current rate is within the application. We need to visit the website instead. It would be nice to show the discount(s) alongside the budget wheel and during model selection in the IDE. (This would be useful for all plans, not just Enterprise)

Hi @Michael_Oden!

Thanks for the feedback.

On Enterprise plans, there are no seperate buckets of Auto/Composer and API – usage is usage. If a user has a limit, this is shown in the Usage tab!

Typically, this shows up in the Model Picker (old screenshot, this discount is no longer active).

Thank you @Colin for the quick response!

No separate buckets in the Enterprise plan makes sense. I think it would still be valuable to see the budget (usage/limit) percentage in the prompt sidebar (near where devs are “spending”) in the case there are limits. I’m now doubting myself on whether this visualization already exists - we only introduced a limit per user this month and I don’t even see it on the Usage tab right now and I don’t have a Spend tab like with my personal account which is where I see my limit for that account. Perhaps I should revisit this next month to see if it gets fixed in the next cycle.

For the discount, I’m used to seeing that text in the model picker on my personal Individual account, using the IDE on Windows, but I didn’t see it for Composer 2.5 the last couple days on my Enterprise account, using the IDE on Ubuntu. At this moment I don’t see it on either so I’m guessing the discount is ended. Still, a little sale tag icon next to the brain icon in the model picker may be a nice feature. Something to draw a user’s attention to a model under such a promotion - I assume the model providers would appreciate getting more traffic to those models as well.

I would almost want the current price/rate for each model in the model picker, that way I can quickly decide in that menu without visiting the website, but that might clutter the model picker too much. Maybe that can be an optional feature, defaulted off so as not to overwhelm users. I’m not a great UI person so I’m not sure if that proposal is more helpful than hurtful.
