BugBot effort level settings missing from dashboard despite usage-based billing enabled

Where does the bug appear (feature/product)?

BugBot

Describe the Bug

Hi,

I’m on an individual Pro plan and recently enabled usage-based billing for BugBot. I’ve thoroughly checked the BugBot dashboard (cursor.com/dashboard/bugbot) — every button, tab, and control available — but I cannot locate any settings related to BugBot effort levels (Default / High / Custom).

According to the May 2026 changelog, effort levels should be available to all users on usage-based BugBot billing. However, this option simply doesn’t appear in my interface.

What I’ve verified:

  • Usage-based billing is active for BugBot
  • Navigating through the entire BugBot dashboard

What I need help with:

  • How do I access and edit the effort level settings?
  • Is there a specific URL, toggle, or account flag required to unlock this?
  • Could this be a rollout delay or regional/account-type restriction not mentioned in the docs?

Any guidance would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Enabled usage-based billing for BugBot
  2. Try to find Effort level settings

Operating System

MacOS

Version Information

The problem isn’t related to CLI or IDE.

Does this stop you from using Cursor

No - Cursor works, but with this issue

Hey, thanks for the detailed post.

Effort level controls (Default / High / Custom) are currently only available in the Team plan context for Team Admins and Team Members. On individual Pro, the BugBot dashboard doesn’t show them by design. The dropdown is tied to the team-level config, so even if you have usage-based billing enabled on personal Pro, it won’t unlock this setting. This isn’t a delayed rollout or a regional limitation.

I get that the wording in the usage-based billing materials can make it sound different since effort levels are listed as part of the features. I’ll pass along to the team that this is confusing for individual Pro users. By default, BugBot runs at the standard effort level, so you don’t need to do anything on your side.

If you ever decide to switch to a Team plan, the settings will show up in the dashboard automatically.

It currently isn’t appearing for my enterprise either.
