BugBot not showing payment option. Please take our money!

Describe the Bug

BugBot trial has expired, but there’s no option to start paying for it. It says Your Bugbot trial has expired. Please purchase a license in the Cursor dashboard to continue using Bugbot. But when anyone on our team (including our admin) goes to the dashboard, there are no options for purchasing a license. It just shows the standard BugBot configuration dashboard (when to run, what repos, etc).

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Try to use BugBot
  2. Get told you need a license
  3. No option to pay for one
  4. Cry :sob:

Expected Behavior

Take our money!

Does this stop you from using Cursor

No - Cursor works, but with this issue

This is what our dashboard shows, including for our team admin

Hey, thanks for the report. I’ll pass this on to the team.

Hey! Looking into this, would love to help out here.

I noticed a few things:

  • Your team has 2 admins and they do have access to the “manage licenses” page
  • Your team has set a hard cap of 3 licenses with the following GitHub users on the allowlist: troehrkasse, markcarlson, parkerscobey. So it seems like your admin did manage to activate your membership!
  • The screenshot you’re showing has messages that only Pro Users should see (if this is regarding a team trial expiry, the copy will look different)

I have a hypotheses as to what is going on here. Since it looks like your admin has purchased 3 licenses for Bugbot for the 3 users, perhaps the PR you’re pushing to is not managed by your team?

Can you confirm that you are trying to run Bugbot from one of the allowlisted GitHub usernames mentioned above, and it’s on a repo that is within the frontdesk org?

Yes, It was my PR (troehrkasse) and my boss (markcarlson) was the one trying to trigger Bugbot.

To test, I just tried again to initiate BugBot on one of my own PRs and it still did not work:

It seems odd that we’re showing as having two admins. markcarlson should be our only admin.

Edit: scratch that, confirmed there is a second admin used for higher ups.

Markcarlson confirmed just now that he does have access to the licenses page, but changing things there does not seem to have any effect on whether or not BugBot will run.

We also tried removing the restrictions like so, but this did not help

Thanks for the follow-up here!

Good news, we think we’ve figured out the issue  we had a bug with how we were handling teams with unpaid admin seats.

Deploying the fix now, please give it an hour or so to deploy and then definitely let me know if it’s still happening. Want to make sure we fully close the loop here and get you your Bugbot access!!
