Building side chat plans in cloud moves main chat to cloud

Describe the Bug

When I open a side chat and I build a plan and then I want to build that plan in the cloud, it moves the entire agent into the cloud, which is extremely disruptive and annoying. So I can’t just fork and build a new plan in the cloud based on something I saw, and there’s no indication that this would happen. Produced a horrible experience for me where it disrupted a ton of in-flight work.

Steps to Reproduce

Have a main agent doing stuff locally, then open a side chat, have it build a plan, and then press “build in cloud” to that side chat’s plan.

Expected Behavior

it moves the side chat to cloud to build the plan

Hi Sean, I’m very sorry for this unexpected surprise and disruptive behavior. Obviously we don’t want your experience with Cursor to be like this. We are looking into a related issue, and I think we’ll be able to address this behavior at the same time. I’ll keep you updated with anything relevant to share.

Nothing was lost in the meantime. The conversation is in the new cloud agent, and you can bring it back from that agent’s “Move to” menu. You can right click on the Cloud Agent in the Agents Window and Press Move to and then you can Move it back to your current Machine. If you don’t see the cloud agent in the Cursor Agents Window, click on the Customize Sidebar button and make sure that the Cloud Agent environment option is selected so that those relevant chats are displayed.
