> “The C/C++ extension may be used only with Microsoft Visual Studio, Visual Studio for Mac, Visual Studio Code, Azure DevOps, Team Foundation Server, and successor Microsoft products and services to develop and test your applications.”

The C/C++ extension is blocked by Microsoft 🙃

Right click on the C++ extension, and install a specific version, like 1.24.3, then you can use it again.

I’m disgusted.
😭
I think this is a tactic Microsoft uses to enhance the competitiveness of Copilot.
I can do nothing about it.

100% users in Cursor reddit explain this in detail: [https://old.reddit.com/r/cursor/comments/1jrl981/microsoft\_has\_released\_their\_own\_cursor/](https://old.reddit.com/r/cursor/comments/1jrl981/microsoft_has_released_their_own_cursor/)
VSCode is opensource, marketplace isn’t, Cursor may use another market in the future to solve this issue

</div>

Because a new version of VS Code has been recently released, which supports **agents** , this behavior has now become reasonable.
😅 😭

It’s because Cursor hasn’t updated the version of vscode, please update the version, I can use C++ normally after modifying the application marketplace with vscodium

I tried it yesterday. VSC agent functionality is so bad is mostly useless. The autocomplete is really bad as well
