Can no longer edit a routine

Where does the bug appear (feature/product)?

Windows GrokBot Desktop app

Describe the Bug
I have a routine that is triggered by a webhook. Previously when I clicked Edit on a routine it would show me the webhook url and security token. Now when I click edit It just types in the Bot’s window Edit your routine: {routine name}. I have no way to get the webhook information.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Create a routine by prompting the bot to create a routine that is triggered by a webhook.
  2. Wait for the routine to be created on the right hand panel.
  3. Click the Routine name to open the edit pane.
  4. You will see the text that describes what the routine does
  5. Click the Edit button at the bottom of that pane
  6. The pane does not flip to edit mode

Expected Behavior
Previously the UI would display the schedule and any important information about the routine including the webhook url and Bearer Token

The more details you provide, the easier it is for us to reproduce and fix the issue. Thanks!

Hey @Shaun_Bowe, thanks for the report. There are two separate things happening here.

Two separate things are happening here. The Edit button now opens a pre-filled message in the Bot conversation by design. Sending it is the current way to ask the Bot to change a routine.

The missing webhook URL, key, and Authorization header matches a known issue with server-managed routines. It is not caused by your account or setup. Recreating the routine will not help, and the Bot cannot retrieve the key through chat.

For now, the available alternatives are a scheduled routine that polls the external source or a narrowly scoped Slack message routine. We’re tracking this issue, and I’ll update this thread when there is progress.

For now, the practical alternatives are a scheduled routine that polls the external source or a narrowly scoped Slack message routine. This is the same issue discussed here: Desktop Grok Bot webhook routine shows no POST URL / crsr_ key (Windows 0.47.0)

Same issue… Trying to hook up a Webhook. Worked a couple days ago. Now not able to get a Webhook from a Bot for an external trigger. Also not able to create any routines manually.

Mac Desktop App: ver: 0.51.0

Hey @Shaun_Bowe,

The missing webhook URL, key, and Authorization header for server-managed routines was fixed in a recent Grok Bot update. Updating the desktop app to the latest version (0.53.0) should bring the Webhook section back in the routine panel, with all three values copyable.

One note on the Edit button: opening a pre-filled message in the Bot’s chat is now the intended way to change a routine, and creating one works the same way, so that part isn’t changing. Just ask the Bot in chat.

Let me know if you still don’t see the fields after updating.

This works great, thank you!
