Hey, thanks for the report, and it’s great you found a working workaround.
You’re right. If you open a .canvas.tsx file directly from the file tree via double-click or Ctrl+Click, you’ll see the raw TSX source without rendering. To see the rendered canvas, use one of these:
- Right-click the file and choose Open, like you did
- Or Command Palette > Open Canvas
- Or click the canvas card directly in the agent chat
About a Preview button like Markdown has, there isn’t a separate Preview button for .canvas.tsx right now. That’s a feature request. You actually already created it here: No preview button for "Canvas". Let’s keep the discussion there so everything stays in one place.
