Can you review agent edits in page order?

Hi

I was wondering if there was a way to review agent edits in a file from top to bottom.

When i’m editing implementation plan or architectural docs I usually go from the top, and then send prompts to the agent as changes are required.

However, if it has already made edits further down these seem to take priority in the resolution order, so when I click Accept/Reject for one at the top that just came up, it then skips much further down in the document, when I’d rather it went down to the next one.

Is there a way to do this?

Thanks

Hey, thanks for the detailed write-up. There is a way to go through a file from top to bottom.

The edits inside the file are sorted by line number, so nothing is explicitly prioritizing changes lower down. The issue is different: after you click Keep, the auto-jump to the next change starts from your current text cursor position, and clicking the Keep button with the mouse does not move the cursor. If your cursor is still lower in the file, usually after the previous auto-jump, then the “next” change is calculated from there, and new edits above get skipped. Undo also does not jump anywhere by itself.

Two ways to get the order you want:

  1. Review using the keyboard, it goes top to bottom:

    1. Click once in the editor near the very top of the file, above the first change, so the cursor is there.
    2. Press Alt+J, or Option+J on Mac, to jump to the first change.
    3. Press Cmd+Y on Mac, Ctrl+Shift+Y on Windows, or Ctrl+Y on Linux, to accept it. The cursor will move to the next change below.
    4. To reject a change, press Cmd+N on Mac or Ctrl+N on Windows or Linux, then use Alt+J to continue.
    5. Press Alt+K, or Option+K on Mac, to go back to the previous change.
  2. Or fully disable auto-jump: Cursor Settings > Agents > Applying Changes > turn off “Jump to Next Diff on Accept”. After that, you can click Keep or Undo with the mouse, and move between changes manually with Alt+J and Alt+K.

If option 1 still skips a change that is directly below the one you just accepted, share your Cursor version using Cursor > About Cursor and where you are reviewing, the normal editor tab or the Review panel, and I’ll dig deeper.

Hi, thanks for the reply. I thought it may have been based on where my text cursor was but I tried clicking above each time and it didn’t help so I guess it’s a bug. For now i’ll just use your suggestions to work around the issue
