# Cannot interact with dev-container on fresh install

Hello,

I am having trouble interacting with dev-container extensions upon a fresh install on an M2 MacBook. My old install had no issues whatsoever.

I may have messed something up in the process, so to be safe, I factory reset the new laptop and carefully set up my workspace as follows:

1. Install brew & docker
2. Install VSCode [1.96.2](https://update.code.visualstudio.com/1.96.2/darwin-arm64/stable) and disable auto update
3. Install dev-container extensions in VSCode

- ms-vscode-remote.remote-containers
- ms-vscode-remote.vscode-remote-extensionpack
  - ms-vscode-remote.remote-ssh
  - ms-vscode.remote-explorer
  - ms-vscode.remote-server

1. Install cursor and import extensions/settings from VSCode.

I can see the desired extensions listed as installed, and all commands and menu views are present. However, if I attempt to run any of the dev container commands in Cursor, I get an error like:

> command ‘remote-containers.attachToRunningContainer’ not found

According to Google, I seem to be the only one experiencing this issue.

Any idea what I’m missing here?
