Cannot open Cursor due to "Application Not Responding"

Describe the Bug

Whenever I attempt to open Cursor (v1.1), the app icon will bounce on my dock as though it were about to open. The bouncing then stops after some time, however the application window never opens. Right-clicking the icon on my dock presents the “Application Not Responding” message.

This is the first time I’ve attempted to use Cursor, and I have removed a working installation of VSCode and the non-working installation of Cursor from my machine before attempting a fresh install of Cursor. The non-responsive behavior persists.

Cursor installer used: Mac Arm64. Though the same behaviour persists with the “Universal” installer.

Steps to Reproduce

  • Install Cursor
  • Attempt to open the application
  • Wait for the application to open
  • Right click the app icon from dock and note the “Application Not Responding” message

Expected Behavior

The Cursor application should open and be responsive.

Does this stop you from using Cursor

Yes - Cursor is unusable

After updating OSX to Sequoia 15.5 and re-installing Cursor once more, the application now opens and is responding as expected.
