For cloud, you dug into the right thing, it’s a separate issue and it’s already being handled in your cloud subagents thread: Limited number of models for cloud subagents. Colin already replied there about the plans, so let’s keep any further cloud updates and discussion in that thread to avoid duplicates. There’s no exact timeline yet, but when there’s an update it’ll be posted there.
For the local behavior from this thread, if you hit the effort-variant limit within a single family again, reply here and we’ll take a look.
