Cannot use SAP Business Application Studio (BAS) from Cursor with BAS Remote Access

Where does the bug appear (feature/product)?

Cursor IDE

Describe the Bug

Issue: Cannot use SAP Business Application Studio (BAS) from Cursor with BAS Remote Access.

BAS Toolkit installs and appears.
BAS Remote Access is not visible in Cursor’s marketplace.

Manually installing BAS Remote Access via .vsix triggers a dependency on Remote – SSH (Microsoft) that Cursor’s own Anysphere Remote –SSH doesn’t satisfy.

Installing Microsoft Remote – SSH via .vsix lets the new window open, but the remote setup then fails (e.g., server download/commit mismatch errors). Net effect: I still can’t work in my BAS Dev Space from Cursor.

Steps to Reproduce

Search for Remote Access for SAP Business Application Studio - Visual Studio Marketplace “Remote Access for SAP Business Application Studio” in Extensions - its not there.

Expected Behavior

I can install the “Remote Access for SAP Business Application Studio” and SSH into SAP Business Application Studio to use Cursor in SAP Development.

Note: Local Development isn’t possible due to firewalls & required cloud connector proxy.

Additional Information

This is a requirement for thousands of SAP developers!

Does this stop you from using Cursor

Yes - Cursor is unusable

Hi @Max_P, unfortunately this is something that the extension developer would need to fix. I would recommend that you file a bug report with the developers of Remote Access for SAP to support OpenVSX and Cursor’s Remote SSH extension.
