Cant refresh repositories on mobile app

I often spin up up GitHub repos for one-off ideas, but for some reason the Cursor app just doesn’t see it. It would be nice if it refreshed on app open or let me refresh manually.

Hey, thanks for the feedback. This is expected behavior in the iOS app right now, but there’s a known limitation.

The repo picker on mobile refreshes the list every time you reopen the repo selection sheet, and also on app relaunch. But because of backend caching, a newly created repo may not show up right away, sometimes up to about 30 minutes. There’s no manual force refresh button on iOS yet like the Refresh repositories button on web and desktop. That’s the gap you’re calling out.

A couple things to check if the repo never shows up:

  • If your GitHub App is installed in Only select repositories mode, the new repo won’t appear anywhere, not on iOS, web, or desktop, until you add it to the Cursor GitHub App installation or switch to All repositories.
  • Make sure the repo is visible on cursor.com. If it’s not there, it’s a GitHub App settings issue, not an iOS issue.

I’ve noted the request for refresh-on-open and a manual refresh option, it’s on our radar. I can’t share an ETA yet. The same request was raised in this thread: iOS app doesn’t show new repos

Following up on this. I’m hitting the same issue, but it’s not a caching delay. I have a private repo (spadeos) that’s about 2 months old, with commits as recent as 10 hours ago, and it shows up correctly in the Cursor web dashboard and desktop app repo picker right now. On iOS, searching for it returns ‘No Matching Results’ even after fully quitting/reopening the app and waiting several days. My GitHub App installation is set to ‘All repositories’ access, so it’s not a permissions issue either. This seems like a persistent iOS

Hey, thanks for the details. What you’re describing is different from the case above, it’s not a caching delay. If the spadeos repo is visible in the web dashboard and in the desktop repo picker under the same account, then it should show up on iOS from the same source. So seeing No Matching Results is a bug, not expected behavior.

We’ve seen this symptom before a repo shows on web and desktop but doesn’t appear on iOS even after days. It’s already being tracked, but I can’t share an ETA for a fix yet.

To add your case to the report, can you share a couple of details?

  • Your Cursor iOS app version
  • Is the spadeos repo under a personal GitHub account or an organization?
  • About how many repos does your account have access to, like dozens or hundreds? This helps us check if the list is getting cut off due to pagination.

One small request, so this bug doesn’t get mixed with the feature request about a refresh button in this thread, please start a separate thread titled repo visible on web and desktop but missing on iOS. That makes it easier to track on its own.
