# Can't select model in inline chat

### Where does the bug appear (feature/product)?

Cursor IDE

### Describe the Bug

After using ctrl + k to open the inline chat interface, I can no longer see the model selection interface??? I have enabled the non-thinking model (such as Sonnet 4.5) in the model settings interface.

### Steps to Reproduce

1. Use the shortcut ctrl + k to open the inline chat interface
2. The interface does not display the model selection dropdown
3. Using the shortcut ctrl + \ also does not bring up the model options

### Expected Behavior

Can correctly select the model I wish to use.

Hey, thanks for the report. This isn’t a bug. Model selection in Quick Edit `Ctrl+K` was intentionally removed in recent versions. Now `Ctrl+K` automatically picks the best model Auto.

Reason: Quick Edit isn’t compatible with some models like thinking models, Anthropic 4.6+, and others, so we removed the model picker.

If you need control over the model, use Agent chat `Ctrl+L`, the model picker is available there.
