Can't Switch models

Hello, I have provided my own API key and set the Base URL too. But when i head back to chat and try to switch the model, its locked. It allows me to switch the model as soon as I open cursor but then it reverts back to Composer 2.5

Hey thanks for the question. This is expected behavior, not a bug.

On the Free plan, model selection is locked to Composer 2.5. Right after you launch Cursor, the switcher may show up for a moment, but once the client confirms your account is on Free, it automatically switches back to Composer 2.5. That’s what you’re seeing.

Using your own API key BYOK and a custom Base URL with Agent or Composer is also only available on paid plans. You can see this in your screenshot too. The tooltip says Premium models are only available on paid plans.

So if you want to switch models or connect your own key, you’ll need Pro. Let me know if anything’s unclear.
