Feature Request: Granular Sharing Permissions for Canvas

Hi Cursor team,

First of all, I really like the new Canvas feature. It’s a great way to share implementation plans, architecture, and design discussions.

However, the current sharing model feels too limited. As far as I can tell, Canvas can only be shared within the same Cursor Team, and there is no way to grant access to specific users or control permissions.

It would be incredibly useful if Canvas supported more flexible sharing options, such as:

Invite specific users by email
Share with people outside the Cursor Team
Public / Team-only / Private visibility options
Read-only vs. editable permissions
Ability to revoke access or set link expiration
Why this matters

Many teams collaborate with clients, contractors, or partners who are not members of the same Cursor Team. Canvas is an excellent medium for sharing technical plans and documentation, but the current sharing restrictions make it difficult to use in these scenarios.

Adding granular permission controls would make Canvas much more practical for real-world collaboration and bring it closer to tools like Notion, Figma, and Google Docs.

Thanks for considering this feature!

Hey there! Canvas sharing today is team-wide only, with no per-user or external invite controls. We’ve let the team know and this is something we’re tracking. No timeline to share yet, but I’ll post here if there’s an update.
