Canvas Publish/Share button missing in 3.12.17 — not in toolbar, ... menu, or Command Palette

Where does the bug appear (feature/product)?

Cursor IDE

Describe the Bug

The Publish button that was previously visible in the canvas toolbar is no longer present in Cursor 3.12.17. It is not in the toolbar, not in the … overflow menu, and does not appear as a command in the Command Palette (publish, share canvas). The Shared Canvases section on cursor.com/dashboard is still visible and previously published canvases are still listed, confirming the feature is enabled on the account. The button was present and working in the build prior to 3.12.17. Since this was working last I used it on 7/15 and today it didn’t, I upgraded from 3.10.20 to 3.12.17 but still no help.
My PREVIOUS version was Version: 3.10.20 (system setup)
VS Code Extension API: 1.125.0

xterm.js: 6.1.0-beta.256

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Open Cursor 3.12.17 on Windows 10 (build 26100)
  2. Open a canvas in preview/rendered mode (via the canvas card at the end of an agent response, or Command Palette → Open Canvas)
  3. Look for a Publish or Share button in the canvas toolbar — it is not present
  4. Open the … overflow menu in the top-right of the canvas panel — Publish/Share is not listed
  5. Open Command Palette (Ctrl+Shift+P) and search “publish” and “share canvas” — no matching commands appear
  6. Actual behavior: No publish option anywhere; feature worked in the prior build

Expected Behavior

Publish button visible in canvas toolbar, generating a shareable URL for team dashboard

Operating System

Windows 10/11

Does this stop you from using Cursor

No - Cursor works, but with this issue

Hi @Kashyap_Shah, Thanks for the detailed report. I checked your team configuration and found that Shared Canvases was disabled by your team admin on July 20. This hides the Publish button and is not related to Cursor 3.12.17.

Please ask a team admin to re-enable it here: https://cursor.com/dashboard/team-settings#shared-canvases Then Restart your Cursor App after it’s been re-enabled.

Previously published canvases may remain visible in the dashboard. The Share Canvas action is also not available through the Command Palette, so that part is expected.
