Chats disappearing in Cursor's agent view

Where does the bug appear (feature/product)?

Cursor IDE

Describe the Bug

I’m seeing an issue with disappearing chats in Cursor’s agent view. The chat transcripts are still on disk, the entries are present in Cursor’s internal SQLite DB and it’s the right workspace, but the chats don’t appear in the agent sidebar list. I’m aware of a couple of specific chats missing, but don’t know how many there might be exactly. The ones I know are missing were manually renamed through the IDE and should be in the ~ 20 most recent chats. Restarting Cursor didn’t help. I first noticed this in v3.4.17 and I’m now on v3.4.20. Anyone else seeing this?

Steps to Reproduce

Chats missing every time I start Cursor.

Expected Behavior

Chats should appear in the list of chats.

Operating System

MacOS

Version Information

IDE version 3.4.20

For AI issues: which model did you use?

Sonnet 4.6

Does this stop you from using Cursor

No - Cursor works, but with this issue

Hi @marko-asplund Thanks for the detailed report, and I’m sorry for the inconvenience here.

We do have a known bug tracked regarding missing chats on the Agents view.

By any chance, can you see the missing chats in the IDE view, or are they missing from the IDE editor view as well?

Thanks @kevinn ! I can see the chats in the Editor Window.

Ok awesome. So this is just an Agents view problem for now, which we’ll get sorted out and I’ll let you know when it’s fixed. Glad there is a solid workaround currently available by using IDE view temporarily.
