Does this stop you from using Cursor

No - Cursor works, but with this issue

Hey, thanks for the report. To help with the investigation, please share:

  • What exactly happens when you ask Cheetah to fetch rules? Do you see an error message, or does it just not respond?
  • A screenshot or chat transcript showing Cheetah’s response when you try this feature
  • Which Cursor version this last worked in (if you remember)

In the meantime, you can manually reference rules using @Rules in chat, or set rules to “Always” or “Auto Attached” in .cursor/rules so they’re included automatically.

It just says the fetch_rules tool does not exist

Oh just to add context.

The model is aware of the fetch_rules tool because i have a user_rule that incentivate the model to use this tool more, if I would remove that rule of course the model would be confused since it doesn’t know what tool to use to “fetch rules”

Thanks for the info, that’s very helpful.

Confirm, the models can not fetch rules since a few days.

Prompt: is the fetch_rules tool available to you at the moment?

Reply: No — that tool isn’t available in my current toolset. I can read <file path here> directly instead if you’d like.

This is really annoying and i dont want to load all the rules per default it will bloat my context and burn tokens/credits! Please fix with high prio!

I use early access channel - but this something I wouldnt expect to be broken in early access.
