Describe the Bug
I m using Cursor to write noval and planning for my Scifi game project. I noticed this problem is killing my workflow and it is so frustrating!
I searched on this forum several times and there hundreds of people like me are having this issue as well.
The bug is that Cursor will always tend to generated garbled text like “” and mixed them randomly in your file
I used to believe that Claude was behind all this, but today I just found out it isn’t! Bugged text only appears on cursor encoder trying to overwrite AI content and paste back to your original file!
Today I finally understand where is the problem, I always thought it Claude 3.5 sonnet caused this AI generated Chinese text problem. But it turns out it isn’t!
Just like this dude said When using Chinese, the Gemini series models are garbled in the Cursor - #18 by EarlyBedEarlyUp
The problem occurs after I clicked apply or Composer automatically applied the change, then Cursor will cause the garbled text!
Steps to Reproduce
- Import any chinese document as markdown file in cursor workplace
- ask AI to change only small section of paragraph in composer, agent mode
- You can inspect the AI generated result from AI, it has no garbled bugged text “”, after a while, your markdown will display changed area with green highlight, you will see hundreds of garbled text “” in unrelated section!
Remember, you only ask AI to change first paragraph of that article
BUT, Cursor encoder will somehow trying to filter ALL of your current file text and trying to swap the part that is newly generated, and THIS IS the process caused TROUBLE!!! Many unrelated section paragraph including text are exchanged to garbled bugged text during this process!!!
Expected Behavior
No Garbled text please! it has been 3 months
