Clarification on Cloud Agent Limits (Simultaneous Agents vs Environments/Repos)

Hi everyone,

I had a few questions regarding Cloud Agents in Cursor and wanted some clarification:

  1. What exactly is the limit on Cloud Agents?

    • Is the limit based on the number of simultaneous agents running at the same time?

    • Or is it based on the number of repositories/environments stored in the cloud?

  2. If there is a limit on agents:

    • Does it refer to how many agents can work on a single repo simultaneously (for example, assigning multiple agents different tasks in parallel)?
  3. Is there any limit on the number of environments I can create?

    • If yes, does deleting old environments free up that limit?

Would really appreciate any clarification on how these limits are defined and managed. Thanks!

Hey, good questions. Here are the answers:

  1. What exactly is limited?

The limit is based on how many Cloud Agents are running at the same time, not on how many repositories or environments you have. On the Pro plan, the limit is 8 concurrent agents. Pro+ and Ultra give you a lot more slots.

  1. Can I run multiple agents on the same repo?

Yes. You can run multiple agents in parallel on the same repo, each working on its own task, as long as you stay under the total concurrent agent limit.

  1. Is there a limit on environments?

There isn’t a hard limit on the number of environments, but there is a gotcha. If you create and delete environments, old agent records can still count toward the limit until you archive them. If you see “You’ve reached the limit” when you don’t have any active agents, go to https://cursor.com/agents and archive old or stuck agents. That should free up slots.

Let me know if anything’s still unclear.
